This is it!
My senior year so far has been nothing but good to me. I can’t believe its my final
year already!! I feel like 3 years of high school passed just like a blink of an eye .That’s why I
want to make this year as meaningful as possible. The last year of high school is rumored to be
the funnest year of all, and I can’t wait to experience it myself. Since the first day of my final
year started, I’ve been working hard not to be distracted or fall behind pace. If I tend to fall
behind pace it's hard for me to get back on track because all the work just adds up. When school
started, I wanted classes to get going so I can begin my learning because I was ready for this
year, and I didn’t want to waste any time. I'm on pace in all of my classes and on the right track
for a 2 year college. I need to finish all my classes this year and on time because they are classes
that are required for college except for many of my electives. When it comes to our senior
project, we have been working on it for a while and now I’m currently working on my “about
me” page and looking forward to do my job shadow. I still have not decided who I’m going to
job shadow, but hopefully by the end of this week I will figure it out.
My goals for this school year is to keep my GPA high and strive for level 4 in all my
classes. My main goal for my senior year is to finish my senior project early so that I can be able
to focus on college applications and financial aid because that process takes a lot of time. I know
that my senior year will be difficult, but I know that it will pay off in the long run.
I am also really looking forward to all the activities the senior class does to bond with
each other for example our senior sunrise and sunset, our grad night and other activities we do
after all it is our last year and we got to enjoy it. The event I am really excited for this year is
finally graduating high school. This is the moment I’ve been waiting for since my freshman year
every year it was a different class graduating and this year it’s my turn. Although I am very
nervous I know greater things and a better education await me after high school

Senior Year has so far prepared me to meet deadlines that in the future can be very crucial for my own education. I have learned to stay more organized throughout my first semester as senior. But most of all I am working ahead of my classes to be done with them on time and not have to procrastinate at the end of my second semester. I have also taken the advantage to have a job and save money for my future in college because once in college money will also be another factor that contributes to my success.
Deadline are the most important factor for my education without them I might not even graduate. If I don’t start practicing now for my deadlines in college the effects of it might be being kicked out of the school or failing the class I take. High school has so far prepared me by assigning dated for projects or essays to be turned in, therefore like in college they will fail me for that subject in class or they will not give me my grade if I don’t complete the assignment prior to the assigned date of entry.
Staying organized in high school can have its advantages, without being organized important documents can be either lost or ruined. I have prepared myself by having a binder with dividers for each class, I have also set up a series of notebooks specially assigned to each class. I have my own personal calendar in which I write important dates and activities that are happening at school.
Staying on track is another step I am completing, I have started working on assignments for my second semester to stay on track and not procrastinate coming to end on my second semester. I have tried my best to stay up to date and not fail my work assignments due to the possibility of not receiving my grade. Another step of me preparing myself is having a job. Like everyone knows, college is money wasted. I have started working to save up some money for college use purpose. I may receive Financial Aid, but knowing that you have a little bit of money extra is one of the greatest satisfactions. I can start saving up money for books, housing, and paying my tuition. With this job now i can’t fall behind I need to follow my procedures to stay on pace and not fall behind because it can affect my graduation status at the university or any college.
In conclusion, I have already started getting ready by staying on pace in all my classes and not procrastinate. I have learned to stay on pace and to be more organized with my school supplies. I have also started thinking of the future by having a job to help me pay for my books, housing and tuition fees of my university or college I would like to attend. If i follow the procedures, I have set up for myself I know I will be successful in college.

I am almost half way done with my last year in high school, it feels like much of an honor to be seen as the big kids on campus along with knowing that all the other students at school see me and my classmates as role models. I am feeling the pressure of senior year. I was once told that senior year was the easiest year and that most kids relaxed, I questioned that statement. I have troubles wrapping around my head that the fact that other students saw this year as the easiest year while me and some others are experiencing struggles
Since my first journal, many things have changed. When I wrote my first journal, I wanted to go to a four-year university but that has changed due to the future plans I have for myself. I now plan on attending COS or PC then apply to the Fresno State or CSU Bakersfield. I made this decision because it will not only be cheaper, but I won’t have to live far from home. I felt comfortable making this decision more than when I thought of going straight to a four-year university because there would have been a lot major changes in my life. It’s not that I’m scared of making changes, but i feel like it’s the right thing to do. I’m not going to lie, it was a tough decision for me to make because I have always wanted to go to a university right after high school, but when I started to think more and hear about it made me realized that going to a community college first is way better for me. I feel that my goals are starting to become clearer.
As 2017 approaches I get more and more nervous about the graduation because sometimes I ask myself “will I make it to graduation? Or What if I don’t graduate?” it’s also unbelievable that after the 3 weeks of winter break the first semester will be over and that will put a bigger weight on my chest because I am behind in government and English the two important classes needed to graduate. I’m hoping that during those 3 weeks I have some time to catch up and be on pace in all 7 classes and have the appropriate amount of credits.
My senior project is fun; I enjoy doing the assignments since they all relate to me somehow it comes fairly easy. In my senior year I am enjoying all the memories that are being made with my friends I am participating in school activities and just enjoying every bit of my senior year!
Steps I am taking to prepare myself for my post-graduation life would be having a job and going to school at the same time, it gives me practice for the future while I attend college so I know what it is like going to school and having a job. My family is supporting me and my decisions in preparation for my post-graduation life, if I need a helping hand I know they will be there to help me.
